Alcott became a member of the L.P.G.A., winning the rookie of the year award. She won 29 titles including five majors over the next 16 years. Alcott won the Peter Jackson Classic in 1979, the U.S. Women's Open in 1980 and the Nabisco Dinah Short in 1983, '88 and '91. In 1999, when the L.P.G.A. Hall of Fame changed requirements from 30 tour wins to a points system rewarding wins in majors, Alcott gained induction and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1999.
