Arcari was a professional boxer from 1964-'80, defeating Pedro Adigue for the WBC Light Weleterweight Championship in 1970. He made nine successful defenses of his title before vacating the title in 1973 to move up to the welterweight division. He finished his career with a record of 70-2-1 with 38 knockouts.
