1984 Olympic Bronze Medalist
Connor won the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, and finished fourth at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. He won both the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships in 1982, a year in which he set a personal best of 17.57. He failed to advance out of qualifying at the 1983 World Championships, and in his last major meet, won the bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
