Okker won the 1973 French Open doubles championship with John Newcombe and the 1976 U.S. Open doubles championship with Marty Riessen. His best Grand Slam singles result was a final loss to Arthur Ashe at the 1968 U.S. Open. He won 31 career singles title, and had a high ranking of third in the world in March of 1974. Okker also won 69 career doubles titles.
