Leading Scorer at 1976 Olympics

Palubinskas played for Australia at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games. He was second in the tournament in scoring in 1972 and led the tournament with a then Olympic record of 269 points in Montreal. At both Games, he was selected to the All-Tournament Team. He played at Louisiana State University, where he averaged 18.6 points per game. A prolific free throw shooter, Palubinskas has worked as a head coach at the high school level and a shooting coach in the NBA and WNBA, working with Shaquille O'Neal during the 2000-2001 season.
