Five Time NBA All-Star

A first round pick out of U.S.C. by the Boston Celtics in 1972, Westphal was the 10th pick overall. He played three seasons with the Celtics, winning an N.B.A. title in 1974, before being traded to the Phoenix Suns. Westphal played with the Suns until 1980, where he was twice in the top 10 in the league in scoring average. Westphal was an All-Star five times (1977-'81) and a first-team All-N.B.A. selection three times (1977, '79, '80). Westphal played one season for the Seattle SuperSonics and two for the New York Knicks before returning to the Suns for the 1983-'84 season. Westphal transitioned into coaching in 1992 and has been head coach of the Suns, SuperSonics, Pepperdine University and has been head coach of the Sacramento Kings since 2009.
