1972 World Championship Bronze Medalist
A Norwegian native, Forland competed in the 1972 Olympics and finished third in the combined event. Unfortunately, the event (a combination of downhill and slalom results) was not an Olympic event at the time, so she received a World Championship, not Olympic, bronze medal. After attending the University of Utah and starring in their ski program, she began racing on the U.S. Pro Tour, becoming champion five times.
