Five Time Pro Bowl Selection
The Oakland Raiders drafted the cornerback out of Texas A & M in the fifth round of the NFL draft. Hayes played his entire ten season career with the Raiders, winning Super Bowls XV and XVIII. He was selected to play in five Pro Bowls (1980-'84) and was the 1980 Defensive Player of the Year when he led the league with 13 interceptions. He became well known for using Stickum, and adhesive product, in great quantities, and drew so much attention to that fact that the substance was banned from NFL games in 1981. Hayes was named to the NFL's 1980s All-Decade Team.
