A midfielder and defender, Lenarduzzi played his early career with Reading in England and then played eleven seasons with the Vancouver Whitecaps of the North American Soccer League. He scored 31 goals in 288 appearances with the club and was the North American Player of the Year in 1978. Lenarduzzi played indoors with the Los Angeles Aztecs and later with the Tacoma Stars of the MISL. He earned 47 caps for the national team, including playing in four games during the 1984 Olympics. Lenarduzzi later served as national team coach from 1993 to 1998. In 2001, he was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and 2003 the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame. He was also named as one of the top 30 players in CONCAF history.
