Two Time Super Bowl Champion

The Houston Oilers selected Matuszak, a defensive end out of Tampa, with the first overall pick in the 1973 NFL draft. After one season with the Oilers, Matuszak also signed a contract to play for the Houston Texans of the WFL. The Oilers filed a restraining order, so Matuszak didn;t even finish his first WFL game. He was then traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he spent two seasons before moving on to the Washington Redskins. The Redskins released him during preseason and he signed with the Oakland Raiders, where he would stay until the end of his career in 1982. With the Raiders, Matuszak won two Super Bowls and gained famed for his hard-living lifestyle. He later admitted to multiple drug use, but also carved out a niche as an actor. Matuszak appeared in films North Dallas Forty and Goonies and made many TV appearances, including M*A*S*H, The A-Team and Miami Vice.Matuszak died at age 38 of an accidental propozyphene overdose, and also had traces of cocaine in his system.
