Three Time Olympic Silver Medalist
Poulos made her Olympic debut in 1972, finishing 24th in the 1500 meters and 17th in the 3000. She soon switched to the sprints where she won the World Sprint Championship in 1974. At the 1976 Winter Olympics, Poulos captured the silver medal at 1000 meters and finished fourth at 500 meters and sixth at 1500. Poulos captured World Sprint silver in 1976 and 1977, married Peter Mueller and retired for a year. She came back in 1979 to capture her second World Sprint Championship and took silver medals at both the 500 and 1000 meters at the 1980 Winter Olympics as well as the 1980 World Sprint Championships.
