"Mr. Cub" played 19 seasons at shortstop and first base in Chicago. He was the N.L. M.V.P. in both 1958 and '59 and led the N.L. in homers with 47 and R.B.I. with 129 in 1958 and led with 143 R.B.I. in 1959. His 41 homers paced the league in 1960. He was an all star eleven times (1955-'62, '65, '67 and '69). He totaled 512 homers and 1,636 R.B.I. He was enshrined in Cooperstown in 1977 and was selected to Baseball's All-Century Team.
