1976 MEN'S FINAL

Kyle Rote Jr. won his second title by edging Wayne Grimiditch and Lynn Swann. Rote held onto the title when Grimditch was charged with a penalty on the water hazard of the obstacle course. If Grimditch had not commited the penalty, he would have won the title by half a point. Records were set by Brian Oldfield in weight lifting, Wayne Grimditch in the half mile bike race and Bob Rigby in the half mile. For the first time the final was shown live and the bowling, baseball hit and half mile run were not shown on television.
