Butkus was a two-time Illinois All-America and was selected third overall in the 1965 draft by the Chicago Bears, for whom he played his entire nine year career. A linebacker who played in eight Pro Bowls (1965-'72) and was a First Team All-Pro six times (1965, '67-'70, '72). Butkus was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979. He was on the NFL All-Decade team for both the 1960's and 1970's and was ranked as the tenth best player in league history by NFL.com.
