Twelve Time Grand Slam Doubles Champion
Her best result in a Grand Slalm singles event was in the U.S. Open where she lost in the finals in 1970 and '71. Casals won the women's doubles at Wimbledon five times (1967, '68, '70, '71 and '73) and the U.S. Open four times (1967, '71, '74 & '82), seven of those with Billie Jean King. She also captured mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon in 1970 and '72 with Ilie Nastase and the U.S. Open in 1975 with Richard Stockton. In 1996 she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
