Perhaps the greatest player in N.A.S.L. history, the leader of the Cosmos for many years, Chinaglia was league M.V.P. in 1981. He led the league in scoring six times (1976, '78, '80-'83) accumulating career totals of 193 goals and 478 points. He was also an eight time all-star and helped the Cosmos win five league titles. He played for Lazio from 1969-'76 scoring 98 goals in 209 games. Chinaglia made 14 appearances for his native Italy, including two appearances in the 1974 World Cup. Chinaglia passed away at age 65 from a heart attack.
