Barbara Ann Cochran is a member of the famous family of "Skiing Cochrans"
which has operated a small ski area in Vermont since 1961 and has placed several
generations of athletes on the US Ski Team (including Barbara Ann, nine time national
champion brother Bob Cochran, three time national champion sister Marilyn Cochran,
sister Lindy Cochran, nephew Jimmy Cochran, niece Jessica Kelley and nephews Roger
Brown and Tim Kelley). Cochran won the silver medal in slalom at the 1970 World
Championships and captured the gold medal at the 1972 Olympic Games. She won three
World Cup races.
