1976 Olympic Bronze Medalist

Cranston won six straight Canadian championships (1971-'76) and began his Olympic career with a ninth place finish in 1972. That year at the World Championships, his unique style and artistry helped him win the free skating and finish fifth overall. He finished fifth again in 1973 before winning a bronze medal in 1974. Cranston finished fourth at the World Championships in 1975 and 1976 and captured the bronze medal at the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck. Following the Olympics, Cranston enjoyed a successful professional career before retiring in 1997. He currently lives in Mexico where he devotes his artistic passion to painting.
