The 1976 Heisman Trophy winner while leading the University of Pittsburgh to the national title, Dorsett played with the Dallas Cowboys from 1977 to '87 and concluded his career with the Denver Broncos in 1988. Dorsett led the N.F.C. in rushing in 1982, played in two Super Bowls and was selected to four Pro Bowls (1978, '81-'83). Dorsett exceeded 1,000 yards rushing in eight of his first nine seasons, only falling short in the strike shortened 1982 season where he still led the N.F.C. He finished his career with 12,739 yards rushing and 92 touchdowns. He was elected to both the Pro and College Football Halls of Fame in 1994.
