Greer played collegiately for Marshall and was selcted in the 1958 N.B.A. draft by the Syracuse Nationals in the second round. He played his entire 15 year career with the Nationals and their successors the Philadelphia 76ers. He was a ten-time N.B.A. All-star and the M.V.P. of the 1968 game. He finished his career with 21,586 points and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.
