Gura pitched sixteen seasons in the majors with the Chicago Cubs (1970-'73,'85), New York Yankees ('74-'75) and Kansas City Royals ('76-'84). His best season was 1980 where he went 18-10 with a 2.95 ERA, was selected to the All-Star team and helped the Royals win the American League pennant. He compiled a career 126-97 record with a 3.76 ERA.
