1980 Olympic Silver Medalist, 4x100 Meter Medley Relay

Kelly made the first of her three Olympic appearances in 1976 in Montreal, where she finisehd seventh in both breaststroke events and was a member of the sixth place British medley relay squad. 1978 was her best season, winning three medals at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the World Championships in the 100 meter breaststroke. At the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, she finished fourth in the 100 meter breaststroke, and also advanced to the semifinals at 200 meters. Kelly swam the breaststroke leg on the British silver-medal winning 4x100 meter medley relay. After having a child, she came out of retirement to swim the 100 meter breaststroke at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, finishing 20th.
