White was selected in the third round of the 1969 N.F.L. draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Oklahoma State. An offensive lineman, Kolb played for the Steelers for thirteen seasons and was a member of the teams that won Super Bowls IX, X, XIII and XIV.
