1974 30 Kilometer World Champion
Magnusson won the 30 Kilometer race at the 1974 World Championships in Falun and also took the bronze at 50 Kilometers. He missed the 1976 Olympics when he had to return home following the death of his father in a car accident. At the 1978 World Championships, Magnusson was a part of the gold medal winning Swedish relay team.
