Boston’s first-round draft pick in 1977, Maxwell became one of the driving forces in the Celtics’ championship runs in 1981 (when he was named MVP of the Finals) and 1984. Maxwell shot an incredible 56.1% from the field over his fine seven-year NBA career, and dipped below the 50% mark just once, in 1982-83 at 49.9%. He finished first in FG% in the NBA twice, in 1978-79, and 1979-80. Maxwell played collegiately for the University of North Carolina Charlotte. He currently works as a radio broadcaster of Celtics games.
