Perry was a doubles expert who won six World Championship medals and ten European Championship medals. She first emerged in 1974, winning a silver medal in women's doubles at the European Championships. At the 1976 European Championships, she repeated her women's doubles silver and added a mixed doubles bronze. At the inagural World Championships in 1977, she earned bronze medals in both events. Perry won golds in both events at the 1978and 1980 Europeans. She captured her first World Championship in 1980 with Jane Webster and took the silver in mixed doubles. Two silver medals followed at the 1982 European Championships. Perry won the mixed doubles event with Sweden's Thomas Kihlstrom at the 1983 Worlds and also captured the women's doubles silver.
