Member of the Basketball Hall of Fame

Pettit was the second overall pick in the 1954 N.B.A. draft out of L.S.U. by the Milwaukee Hawks. He would play his entire career for the Milwaukee, then later St. Louis, Hawks through 1965. He was the 1954-'55 Rookie of the Year and was the league M.V.P. in 1955-'56 and 1958-'59. Pettit led the Hawks to the 1958 N.B.A. championship and was an eleven time All-Star, winning the All-Star Game M.V.P. award four times. He won two scoring titles and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1970.
