Poulsen competed in the 1972 Winter Olympics, finishing 21st in the downhill and failing to finish the giant slalom. She finished 11th in the giant slalom at the 1974 World Championships. She had one World Cup podium in Giant Slalom, a third place at Abetone in 1973, and finished a high of 16th in the overall World Cup in 1971-'72.
