Three Time American League All-Star

Quisenberry was one of the best relief pitchers of his era, playing twelve seasons with the Kansas City Royals (1979-'88), St. Louis Cardinals ('88-'89) and San Francisco Giants ('90). He was an All-Star three times ('82-'84) and led the American League in saves five times ('80,'82-'85). In 1983, Quisenberry set a then-record of 45 saves in a season. He finished his career with 244 saves and a 2.76 ERA. Quisenberry's lifetime 1.40 walks per nine innings is the lowest in the live ball era. He passed away at age 45 after a brief battle with brain cancer.
