When he was known as Bobby Moore, he played both wide received and running back at Oregon. He converted to Islam and changed his named to Ahmad Rashad and was a fourth overall pick in the N.F.L. draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. Rashad played two seasons with the Cardinals, before playing a little more than a season with the Buffalo Bills. In 1976, he played for the Bills and Seattle Seahawks before settling down in Minnesota where he helped the Vikings to the N.F.C. championship. In Minnesota, he was a Pro Bowl selection in four consecutive seasons (1978-'81) and was the M.V.P. of the 1979 game. In eleven N.F.L. seasons, Rashad 495 receptions for 6,831 yards. After his playing career, Rashad began working as a commentator for N.B.C. where he has covered N.F.L., N.B.A., the Olympics and various Superstars competitions.
