Defensive back was a third round pick out of Clemson by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1970 N.F.L. draft, Waters was a member of the Cowboys from 1970-'81. He played in three Pro Bowls (1976-'78) and five Super Bowls. He totaled 41 career interceptions.
