Youngblood was a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1971out of the University of Florida and went on to become a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year (1975, '76) before retiring in 1984. He also was a six-time All-Pro selection and a seven-time Pro Bowler (1974-'80). Though sacks did not become an official NFL statistic until 1982, Youngblood unofficially led the team in that category eight times -- 1973-77 and 1979-81. Youngblood was a member of the NFL's All-Decade team for the 1970s, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
