An All-American at U.S.C., the tight end was picked by the Philadelphia Eagles as the number six overall pick in the 1973 NFL draft and was named NFL Rookie of the Year. A Pro Bowl selection three times (1973-'75), he played 13-years with the Eagles, Rams, 49ers, and Seahawks, winning Super Bowl XVI as a member of the 49ers.
