1983 World Championship Bronze Medalist 4x400 Meter Relay
Bennett represented Great Britain at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. He advanced to the semifinals of the 200 meters and was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that did not advance from the heats. In 1977, Bennett won U.K. national titles at 100 and 200 meters. At the 1983 World Championships, Bennett ran a leg on the British 4x400 meter relay squad that captured the bronze medal. He had lifetime bests of 20.42 for 200 meters and 46.15 over 400 meters.
