Brenda Korgamnn du Plessis was a 400 meter hurdler at the University of Stellenbosch who recorded a personal best time of 58.6. She was unable to compete internationally due to her country's aparthied policy. After a runner-up finish in 1980, she won the Charlie Supersportsgirl Competition, the South African version of the Superstars.
