"Dr. Dunkenstein" defied gravity to lead the Louisville Cardinals to 1980 NCAA crown, winning NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and the John Wooden Player of the Year Award (1980). Griffith was the second overall pick in the NBA draft by the Utah Jazz and spent his entire ten year career with the Jazz. He was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1980 and had his number 35 retired by the Jazz in 1993.
