The son of hockey legend, Gordie Howe, Mark began his career by winning a silver medal at the 1972 Olympics for the United States at the age of 16. He played with his dad and brother Marty for the Houston Aeros of the W.H.A. and was the Rookie of the Year in 1974. He played 16 seasons in the N.H.L. with the Whalers, Flyers and Red Wings, was an All-Star in 1981, '83, '86 and '88 and scored 742 career points.
