Member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, Olympic Champion
A champion wherever he went, mostly as a teammate with Bill Russell. Jones was a member of the University of San Francisco teams that won the N.C.A.A. championship in both 1955 and 1956. Jones was selected as a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 1956 that won the gold medal in Melbourne, Australia. While a member of the Boston Celtics from 1959-'67, Jones won eight N.B.A. championships in the 1960's and the returned to coach the team to tiles in 1984 and 1986. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989.
