Kelly was an eighth round pick out of Morgan State in 1964 and played the next ten seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He led the N.F.L. in rushing in 1967 and '68 and was a six time Pro Bowl selection (1966-'71). Kelly finished his N.F.L. career with 7,274 yards and 74 touchdowns. He played in 1974 with the Chicago Fire of the World Football League and then retired from football. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
