Three Time United States National Champion
McKellen won three U.S. National Championships (1973-'75) and finished 11th at the 1972 Olympics. He competed in five world championships, finishing 9th in 1971, and improving exactly one placing each year until he finished 5th in 1975. McKellen retired from amateur skating after the 1975 season.
