Richardson holds the distinction of being the only player to win a World Series M.V.P. on a team that lost the Series. He was selected to seven all-star teams (1957, '59, '62-'66) and led the league in hits with 209 in 1962. In 12 seasons with the Yankees, Richardson won three world titles and five gold gloves at second base (1961-'65).
