1982 Commonwealth Games 5000 Meter Silver Medalist
Rose had his first international success in cross country, winning the World Championship bronze medal in 1980 and leading the English team to victory in 1979 and 1980. At the 1982 Commonwealth Games, he finished second in the 5000 meters behind David Moorcroft. Rose was seventh in the 10000 meters at the 1983 World Championships and 12th at the 1984 Olympics.
