1983 Indianapolis 500 champion.
The U.S.A.C. Indy Car champion in 1977 and '78, Sneva was the first man to qualify at over 200 M.P.H. at Indianapolis in 1978. He won the pole in 1977, '78 and '84, and after three runner-up finished finally won the race in 1983. Sneva was also sventh in the 1983 Daytona 500. He was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2005.
