1975 MEN'S PRELIMINARY 2

The second preliminary round of 1975 included eight baseball players and athletes from six other sports. Defending Superstars champion Kyle Rote, Jr. from soccer dominated the competition, winning four events and scoring 50 3/4 points. The competition for the last three spots in the final came down to the obstacle course. Austrian professional skier Hugo Nindl won the obstacle course to wrap up second place. Lou Brock of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mike Hargrove, the Rookie of the Year from the Texas Rangers finished third and fourth in the obstacle course to secure those respective places in the final standings. Rod Carew was scheduled to compete, but was replaced at the last minute by Paul Blair. .
