A punt returner and later running back with the Cleveland Browns, Pruitt was a Pro Bowl selection five times (1973, '74, '76, '77 & '83). Pruitt was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy voting in 1972 while at Oklahoma University. The two-time All-American was a second round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 1973. He exceeded 1,000 yards rushing three consecutive years (1975-'77). Upon joining the Raiders in 1982, Pruitt led the league with 666 punt return yards in 1983 and helped the Raiders win Super Bowl XVIII. Pruitt was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
