Rice played sixteen seasons with the Boston Red Sox (1974-'89) and was an All-Star eight times (1977-'80, '83-'86). Rice was the M.V.P. in 1978 when he led the league with 213 hits, 46 home runs and 139 RBI. Rice led the league in home runs in 1977 and '83 with 39 each season. Rice finished his career with a .298 average, 382 home runs and 1,451 RBI. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.
