N.A.S.L. Record Holder for Goals Against Average
Rigby was a member of the 1972 United States Olympic Team, but did not play during the Games. He was the first pick overall in the N.A.S.L. draft in 1973 by the Philadelphia Atoms, and set a league record of 0.62 goals against average that would stand until the end of the league and led the Atoms to the N.A.S.L. title. He was a second team N.A.S.L. All-Star in 1973 and 1974 and on September 3, 1973 he was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. He was sold to the Cosmos prior to the 1976 season. Rigby earned six caps for the United States and played professionally until 1985.
