1981 World Series M.V.P.
In 15 seasons, all but one with the Dodgers, Yeager played in four World Series. Yeager played for the Los Angeles Dodgers (1972-'85) and Seattle Mariners (1986). He is credited with inventing the dangling throat protector on the catcher's mask after a freak accident where he was hit in the neck with part of the bat while in the on deck circle. Yeager was named co-M.V.P. of the 1981 World Series with Ron Cey and Pedro Guerrero. He finished his career with a .228 batting average and 102 home runs.
