1979 U.K. HEAT 2
Brian Jacks made his Superstars debut in Cwmbran and won three of his sex events enroute to a close win over water skiier Mike Hazelwood. Jacks easily won the weight lifting and set new records of 64 parallel bar dips and a total of 148 in the gym test. Hazelwood twice broke the record in the canoeing and finished second in four other events. The decisive event was the penultimate one, the cycling race. Hazelwood and Jacks faced off in the final and Jacks easily outpaced Hazelwood in the final. Rugby's Andy irvine won three events to capture a third place finish.
