Five Super Bowl Appearances
Pearson was drafted in the twelfth round of the 1967 draft by the Baltimore Colts after playing basketball, not football, at Illinois. He played three seasons with the Colts, appearing in Super Bowl III. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1970-'74 and the Dallas Cowboys from 1975-'80. He was the first player to play in five Super Bowls and the first to appear in the Super Bowl with three different teams. For his career Pearson totaled 3,609 yards rushing, 3,095 yards receiving and 2,801 yards on kickoff returns. Overall, he gained 9,545 total yards and scored 33 touchdowns.
